I prefer rank, people can't downvote (I've seen challenges where only one person voted and everyone has a 1), also people get biased by their current rating when they start voting (I only have a 2, you all get 2's now). Also, I never know what to give the first image. Maybe I give it a four thinking it's great but the rest of the images are way way better and it should have gotten a 3. Also, you can rank a hundred images pretty quickly but it takes a long time to vote, especially with the new timer.

I also prefer rank. I think it's nicer for those who don't win - you still find out who ranked you first - and I think people are more likely to scroll down and find their favourites and like them after. For larger ones I like the 20 rank list instead of 10 though

Voting - as ranking is so fiddly moving things backwards and forwards

Rank, people can select what they like and ignore what doesn't feel right to them. Most of the down voting happens, I believe,is because you dont have a choice of ignoring the creation like you've in voting
