Yes, I know the challenges can take a toll emotionally! Don't despare or give up. After entering them since I joined 7 months ago there is one advice that I can give you, and that is to not overthink things.
I am a classic overthinker and I tell you, it gets you nowhere fast. These challenges are really (really) random. Different people with different taste are the voters, and who comes across our images and may or may not like them, are not in a set specific system. Images are jumping leapfrog all over the planet, as we all are in different parts of the world.
And unfortunately sometimes epic images gets voted down like there is no tomorrow and other times simple images are voted up the same way. Some purposely downvote awesome images (they do!) to weed out competition (they think). I have to go to bed now, but feel free to ask anything if you have questions, I'll check back in tomorrow. Thank you for your amazing words. It was a challenge getting to 5th on the daily 'like' leaderboards with an image that failed to place, so this result brought me much joy. It really is quite random who judges, with taste playing the key difference in scoring high.
You are so welcome!🤗 I know people here have picked me up when I felt I could not do anything right even though I thought I did. But that just shows that the random part is playing havoc on our brains. A daily 5% is awesome, it is a really high score👏😊🌺
So true. My ghost ended up at 3.5 after starting off at 2.96. It's hit or miss, highly dependent on who gets to see and vote on things. I am just happy this one finished above 4 so I can finally 'try' to get top weekly/monthly with it. It's only possible because most of my followers are active, added recently. Crossing my fingers.

Imao - out of the top 5, I think this is the best... I keep seeing "pro" taking the top positions in all the big challenges and not images I would have chosen! Do you think the voting is based on the US system 😆

Thank you for your detailed comments. I think that the voting system has flaws, namely the ability for one person to disrupt the final standings. I personally see the 4th and 5th as more beautiful than the three above, however others chose differently. The difference between winning and 4th literally is one person voting this down. That's all it takes sadly.

It was huge, though had I won I would have 200 more likes at this point and be near the top for the week guaranteed to hit that reward. I might make it, but it's unlikely at this point.
Most striking feature is the perspective... The depth is remarkable, the foreground subjects catch and draw the eye forwards to the horizon... And the Subtle sparkle of A distant sun... It's fantastic ♥️♥️♥️♥️♥️
When it came out like this, I had to abandon any of the painting ones I had, which many were 5% quality. I was shocked honestly at home vivid and real it was.

I almost always feel that way, particularly after an event has started. Sometimes I get the best result at that point, too late of course.

Great colour, nice lighting and composition, but for a gentle criticism.. Too busy on the left and maybe not busy enough on the right, I do love this work though!

Thank you to everyone that likes or comments on this creation. After having so many entries the past week look promising only to fall out of the top-20 it's been an emotional struggle. I ran one realistic image and it came out better than my other choices. This one reached 4.31 after the second batch of votes, the highest score I have ever seen in a daily. While it will finish likely at 4.03, that's my highest ever and really helps to buoy me up. Feel free to comment, like this comment, or follow.
