In the latter years of 2060 terraforming on exo-planets became a real and working business. Corporations eager to start exploring for minerals and other resources planted terraforming colonies on several planets deemed to be formable and have resources needed by humans. The advent of energy conversion methods that were clean and extremely efficient allowed for terraforming scientists and technicians to live in relative comfort, while transforming an uninhabitable world into a livable, habitable environment. Although there were dangers like local wildlife, toxic atmosphere, and plant life, people were eager to start a new life, a new world. These pioneers were sent on terraforming missions, and the terraformers knew that they would almost certainly never see Earth again, yet there was no shortage of enthusiastic volunteers for these missions.
