The moment, right after the first shock had left, but the brain couldn't quite figure out what it meant or how to react.

The men, the few fighting women - thd shield maidens, the young knaves for many of them this had been the first large battle after long years of training, they all felt like being in a trance, like this wasn't quite real and yet they knew that is was.

The biting smoke, the stank of burning metal and other incomprehensible materials was near overwhelming - even to them, people who certainly hadn't led an easy life so far.

This? It was something else, like something from some of their oldest legends. 

Travelling in big iron ships through the skies? Impossible! Yet. they had just witnessed such a thing, crashing in front of them - way too close to feel safe...

Whelks?!  Whatever they are, they're adorable.  I don't even know which to like best.  The eyes are awesome.  When I walk the dog there are snails _everywhere_, scores and scores of them.  They're quite large with white shells or white and brown striped shells.

I put the German translation into Bing but it just understood snail I suppose. lol  I love the result though. ♥️

Wrong color but that does look a lot like him hiding!  Little Devil that he is!  He's a very pale brown (like milky tea!  LOL!) but he can turn darker when he needs to absorb sunlight and warm up.  He's not quite a chameleon, but the change in color is noticeable.
