I've noticed that widescreen aspect ratio tends to "stretch" human figures, as if the generator just creates a square image and pulls it at the sides.

Portrait has a bit of the inverse effect with people looking a little extra thin and "noodly," but I think it's easier to get away with portrait images more so than widescreen. These days, I usually only use widescreen for cityscapes and similar panorama views.
