Palette and composition is pretty much what I see in other Stranka but the subject is more Chausheva.  Maybe drop out or down-weight the less surreal (Chausheva / Belkina) and add some of the more photo-realistic surreal illustrators like Luis Gabriel Pacheco or Shaun Tan.  That'll bring up the palette as well.   

okay, so i dropped Chausheva/Belkina entirely and added both Pacheco and Tan (weighted them too). the use of Tan added little touches of red but not enough. so then i added (and weighted) good ol' Erin Hanson. that improved the colour palette somewhat but not greatly.

Palette is a real problem with the more surreal photorealists.  I suspect that dark and muted just makes it easier to merge the photographic source materials.  Lehr would probably gel better with the whole central defined subject and colour wash background thing.  After that I'd try layering on colourful artists with more abstract styles (i.e. who aren't going to shift the compositional elements as much as the palette).  Maybe Friedensreich Hundertwasser...  At some point you lose the photographic surreal style you were chasing in the first place.
