Cheetah (current)

There have been several different incarnations of Cheetah in DC Comics history: Priscilla Rich, Deborah Domaine, Barbara Ann Minerva (post-Crisis and current Cheetah) as well as Sebastian Ballesteros.

The current Cheetah, named Barbara Ann Minerva is a British archaeologist, specialist in ancient civilizations and languages.

On an expedition into the African jungle, she wishes to become immortal. Ready for anything, Barbara agrees to sacrifice her colleague, Doctor Tom Leavens.

She performs the ritual by drinking the blood of her victim. Barbara is eventually transformed into Cheetah by Chuma, the high priest of the African tribe. She then becomes endowed with incredible strength and extraordinary speed. She can also control animals.

In DC Rebirth, Barbara befriends and teaches English to Wonder Woman, who has just left her home island. But after her transformation, Cheetah becomes aggressive and constantly confronts Wonder Woman.
