Male Portraits

I decided to go in a different direction than I thought most would go with male portraits. I hoped to show something more real, more guttural. I didn’t want to show a god or the fantasy of a supreme virile man. No golden locks or smoldering eyes. No Superman chin or hulking muscles.

Instead I looked to the man who once was an important part of our country’s defense, but has been forgotten, cast off, and forlorn. Our country is filled with men and women who put their lives on the line for our freedom, but have been swept aside and viewed as no longer relevant and—worse—a burden.
