You're so right.  This was an attempt to depict a real hypothesis about how agriculture started.  It's hard to imagine grass seeds (the ancestors of crop cereals) as something anyone wanted to eat.  They are practically impossible to digest without labour-intensive milling, and contain anti-nutrients (chemicals that interfere with absorption) that need to be neutralised by processing (soaking and fermentation).  The idea is that people began planting the plants they saw animals eating to attract them into areas where they could ambushed.  When the animals didn't return, these plants became a survival food.

Is this your hypothesis or is it a paper you’ve read from your field of study. Absolutely incredible as a concept. Just shows how humans came to be the species they became but also possibly how close they came to extinction
