No need to - their fight was supposed to be interrupted.

It is actually a scene from a fiction I tried to write since... well, many years ago. I tried to write an MK vs SF story, then MK 9 came out and I got inspired by its story mode. Actually the time travel matched my own story in a way - only difference is that it was Shao Kahn that basically traveled back long after Armageddon. I completely overhauled the entire story - removed 🧀 from it, remade all the fight scenes, etc. Then I decided to throw DOA, Tekken, and Soul Calibur into the mix. Again with rewrites.

After that the story has seen two more rewrites and went on a hiatus. I was never completely satisfied with it - kept adding and remaking things...

Maybe I will finish it one day.

That scene in particular was inspired by another old game - "Contra: Hard Corps". The very first level of it in particular - the one at night with giant black cyclops boss.
