Jack: "Okay, J-P, I'm sending my driver out to the grid, so explain to me once again why I'm sending her out to P5 instead of P4! Make it good this time!"

Race Director Jean-Pierre: "Jack, look, I got P5 for you. The other teams were pushing me to disqualify, but I told them I wasn't going to DQ you because your driver did a brave thing. That rule is for stopping fights and preventing lawsuits, not to keep people from saving lives. So essentially, you got an unofficial one-position penalty for Marina getting out of the car. Okay?"

Jack "So what's the OFFICIAL penalty going to be?"

Race Director J-P: "We'll talk after the race, but it's probably going to be a non-racing fine or something similar. [pause] So please, Jack, cut me a break. I went to bat for your driver, and you're still in the race. Look, we'll talk after. I'll have more I can tell you then."

Jack: [deep breath] "Okay, J-P. I guess you're doing the best you can. Yeah, thanks, J-P. We're square."
