Daily Squeeee 173: (5/11/25) Warm Hestia

While others battled, conquered, or fell in love, Hestia tended the flame. Eldest of the Olympians, first swallowed by Cronus, first freed, she asked for no throne, no temples—only a hearth in every home. She refused conflict, yielding her seat to Dionysus, yet remained the unseen center of Olympus. Her fire burned in palaces and cottages alike, a symbol of peace, welcome, and sacred duty. She saw all, judged none. In a world of passion and war, she offered stillness. Gods came to her when they were weary, mortals prayed to her before all others. Without her, even Zeus’s lightning held no warmth. She was presence without demand, power without pride. In Hestia, Olympus had a soul—not loud or bright, but steady. She was the first flame, the last light, the quiet promise that home endures.
