Haydee Magee was supposed to be this year's cheerleading captain and likely the homecoming queen, but things fell apart at the end of her junior year. Becoming an outcast from the cool kids leads her to find much more rewarding company as everything in her hometown goes to The Bad Place.
That sounds like a riff on VERONICA MARS, but it's not. There are much more sleuthy people in the football novel. But she does realize how fearless you can be when there's nothing left for others to take away.
(Using a new design template and new description of the character for the prompt. SO MANY CREDITS died for this, so if you've ever thought of Tipping me ... I ain't too proud to beg!)
