Mimi was a curious kitten who loved to explore the world around her.
One day, she saw a small creature with scales and fins and a tail. It looked like a toy, but it moved by itself.
Mimi was fascinated by the creature. She reached out her paw to touch it, but it darted away. Mimi tried again, but it was too fast for her. She decided to wait until it came closer. She crouched down and stared intently.
Her mother walked over to Mimi and said, "Hello, my sweetie. What are you looking at?"
Mimi looked up at her mother and said, "Mother, what is that?"
Her mother said, "That's a fish, my dear. It's a living thing, like you and me."
Mimi said, "A fish? What does it do?"
Her mother said, "It swims in the water and breathes through its gills. It's very pretty, don't you think?"
Mimi said, "Yes, it's very pretty. Can I play with it?"
Her mother said, "Sure, you can play with it. But be gentle, okay? Don't hurt it or scare it."
Mimi said, "Okay. I'll be gentle."

Mimi found an unlikely friend in the shimmering fish who was named Dellah.
From opposite sides of the glass tank, they formed a bond that transcended the barrier between land and sea.
Mimi would watch in fascination as Dellah glided gracefully through the water, her scales catching the sunlight in a mesmerizing display. In turn, Dellah would flit and dart, seemingly entranced by Mimi's playful antics.Though separated by their different worlds, Mimi and Dellah shared moments of joy and companionship, their friendship a testament to the power of connection.
Together, they proved that friendship knows no bounds, weaving a tale of harmony and understanding amidst the ebb and flow of life by the sea.
I had a cat and a goldfish, and the goldfish would swim to the surface and the cat would lick him. She never hurt the fish, and the fish seemed to like it! True story! Thanks for invoking that sweet memory!
