the magnificent Midnight Ganji

(from my upcoming book The Heart of Altari)

the magnificent Midnight Ganji, a master of stealth and trickery, once ruled the night throughout the lands of Eastern N'kombak'i. deeply connected with the planet, they protected the peace of the world instead of causing havoc like one might expect it to. however, because they were so deeply connected with their home, they were all impacted by the events that surrounded them. when the evil Killijans invaded the planet in the Great War, these magnificent beasts retreated deep into underground caves and have not been seen since. most doubt that they even exist anymore, however, there are still a few who hold hope that the ancient guardians of the planet are still, secretly, watching out for those whom they love most.
