Father McGrady (football novel)

Portrait of a man who is realizing just how many people in his town who claim to be Christians are actively marching toward the gates of hell.

Father McGrady's appearance in the football novel is minuscule in the first couple of drafts, but I see room in the next pass for Hunter -- who was raised Catholic -- to spend more time talking with the priest even after he's lost his faith. There are parallels to Kyle, whom the priest fathered before he took his vows of celibacy and tried to help from a distance as the concerned local priest.
