A Country Made of Smiles

Bengali (Durga Puja)

The Bengali people originate from Bengal, divided today between India’s West Bengal and Bangladesh. They speak Bangla and preserve a long lineage of literature, music, and goddess devotion. Durga Puja is their most important yearly festival, celebrating the triumph of Goddess Durga over Mahishasura with music, dance, art installations, and spectacular public pandals glowing with crowds of joyful families.
