lovely pics today.  I'd be content to wait until thee badgers are done and pick the blackberries.  I love love love blackberries.♥

You can find two types of blackberries here, our native variety and the hated Himalayan blackberry. The second one send thick murderous tentacles out and they'll grow just barely under the ground popping out. In no time at all, it and the white perennial morning glory (not the garden type) can cover anything in sight, especially since they can clamour up trees. Both are considered highly invasive.

The Himalayan blackberry has crowded out the native kind. It still is nice and when I see anything that are ripe and not going mouldy, I cram a handful in my mouth. But they flower and fruit on older vines which are almost always out of reach since the new ones with no fruit are lower. They get very mushy quickly too. 

The weird thing is birds and raccoons won't eat them. They either dry up but usually rot with our rains that start around the time they're ripe. I have no idea why. I even picked a handful and put them out for the raccoons who visited me and they would touch them!
