Baby Pip

Baby Pip wasn't interested in the usual penguin games of sliding and splashing. Instead, he'd toddle off towards anything with markings: a weathered crate, a discarded candy wrapper, a faded sign left by explorers. He'd stare intently, his tiny flippers tracing the lines and squiggles as if deciphering a secret code. His parents, though puzzled, indulged him, bringing him smooth stones with interesting patterns or bits of driftwood with worn lettering. Little did they know, they were nurturing a lifelong love for the written word in their peculiar chick.
