Natalie Wood was one of the few child actors who also achieved success as an adult movie star. Wood's career was also a bridge between Old Hollywood and New Hollywood. Bob & Carol & Ted & Alice (1969), a successful film that Wood made after a period of professional and personal setbacks, cemented her place as an actress who was part of both worlds. Wood also achieved success in television, notably in the miniseries From Here to Eternity (1979) for which she won a Golden Globe Award.
