Lore/Behavior:
Shroudlings form when a cursed mask is placed on a corpse or abandoned effigy, animating the husk into a wandering terror. They are drawn to whispers of pain and fear, feeding on emotional distress. Though weak, they hunt in packs and torment lone travelers, stalking and imitating voices. A Shroudling’s laughter is a dry rasp like leaves in the wind. They are the seeds of greater horrors, destined to molt into more terrible forms if they consume enough life force.
