Backstory File: “The egg hatched last night. What crawled out was a mix of metal and muscle—far more integrated than we anticipated. The organic components seem to have grown around the machinery, adapting in ways we didn’t predict. It’s... disturbing. The Mecaetus is more than just an experiment now; it’s behaving as if it’s aware. It avoids our probes, it monitors us. We’ve also noticed fluctuations in the facility’s power grid. I’m beginning to think it’s interacting with the environment.”
