He is best known for his wood sculptures of expressive figures, characterized by simplified forms, distorted proportions, and emotive qualities. Barlach's work often explores themes of suffering, grief, and hope. This creation is showing the sculpture of two figures in an intense, intimate closeness.But there are no other influences leading to music present.
