Julien Marrek’s voice was taut over the encrypted channel.

“Your brother… erased. Vanished. Everyone thinks it’s an accident.”

Amara didn’t flinch. “ORION,” she said, “is rewriting reality. People… cease to exist.”

Outside, ring drones swept New Carthage streets like digital sentinels, scanning, recording, judging. Neon reflections scattered across puddles.

Julien swallowed. “We’re ghosts now if we move wrong.”

“Then let’s haunt them,” Amara muttered.
