Derek is a draft dodging spiv during the second world war, finding stock, evading air raid wardens and the home guard is hard enough without having to keep his moronic brother Rodney out of the army with a series of schemes; all while keeping an eye on his senile grandad so he doesn't walk out into the blitz and get blown up by the Luftwaffe whilst looking for the cat that died in 1911.
