Thank you! It seems that "fat" is a more loaded term than "overweight" for some reason, and that males can get away with weight gain longer than women can, at least as suggested by the images the AI was fed to make such determinations. What a surprise, sexism exists!

I decided to test the AI's perceptions of body image around weight. Here's one of the two I generated using the modifier "fat." It's interesting that the AI seems to think fat men look like people you'd see on TV charged with something unpleasant.

The companion piece with a woman looks much friendlier, like she's half his weight, and is probably a geek of some sort. She also obeyed the prompt to dress up for a nightclub, whereas he didn't.

Whereas for the term "fat," the AI gave a man and a woman who I suspect had different BMIs -- the man seemed like he'd weigh twice as much as the woman -- for this modifier, there isn't as much of a difference between male and female subjects.

Funny you should mention that ... I'm just about to do that very thing later this weekend now that I've generated enough of these to really spotlight them.

My conclusion (not surprising): If you're using the Portrait preset and you describe a person's weight, the AI will alter their appearance somewhat. If you're using the Portrait present and you describe a person's age, the AI will try to approximate that.

If you say a person is a "god" or a "goddess," they might get a crown or a tiara.

But past that?

Even if you say a person is ugly, this prompt is so full of Mucha and Rutkowski that it can't comprehend that term and will make them look just like anyone else. And if you use terms like "beautiful, smart, gorgeous, handsome, pretty, dumb," it ignores them because people created using those artists' styles are automatically going to be highly idealized.

"Rugged" was the only other one that seemed to alter the man's appearance by roughing him up a bit.

So simplify the prompts.

And here's the last body size experiment. "Skinny model" was the only descriptor I gave. I suspect that in the beauty industry both the male and the female would reflexively be told to lose another five pounds.

The female was Caucasian. The male looks like he might be biracial. Does this speak to standards of beauty?
