Version 2 Upscale--When The Witching Hour was first published around December 1990, the title page had a sketch of the Brevard Rice house, Anne Rice's home at the time and the house of the Mayfair Witches in the novel. It was across the title pages of the book, and appeared again the same way when the trade edition was published around November 1991. There was some uncertainty at the time the AMC series premiered as to whether or not Anne Rice's former home played a role in the Mayfair Witches novels. To help answer this question, I've tried to direct readers to this unique illustration in the novel. This is not an absolutely perfect render (the roof of the house definitely has an error), but just the same...WOW!
