"Down these mean streets a man must go who is not himself mean, who is neither tarnished nor afraid. He is the hero; he is everything. He must be a complete man and a common man and yet an unusual man."

The title is a quotation from the essay "The Simple Art of Murder," written by Raymond Chandler, describing how he views the ideal hero in a hard-boiled detective story. (And he had written enough of them to qualify as an expert witness on the subject.) I'm sure you can see how this teddy bear detective looks particularly tough and courageous and so forth. 😉

Note: This creation was a spur-of-the-moment sequel to a film noir teddy bears image I created some time ago. I envision this as the same guy who was the protagonist in that one.
