I love playing with the idea of things, people, or ideas subverting the norms people think they should be. I kind of love the idea of the phoenix not just being a legendary bird of life, but of fire and powerful. Like, don't think just because this one can raise you from the dead doesn't mean they can't burn you to the ground as well. Just if they accidentally kill someone they liked; we can bring them back.
