She stood there for a moment in composure, looked at her notes (which were little due to the battle with the Jaffa) and then spoke:
“My friends,” she began softly, her carrying easily in the stillness, “I know that your hearts are troubled.”
A murmur passed through the church — not disagreement but recognition.
“There are things happen on this planet that are frightening. Things that seem powerful… perhaps even holy at first glance. And when fear takes hold, it whispers to us; What if God has left us? What if we are no longer under His protection?”
She let that sink in for a moment.
“These thoughts are not from God.” Her tone wasn’t sharp, but it was firm.
“God does not abandon his people. Not in darkness. Not in confusion. Not in the presence of evil. Especially not then.”

Helena stepped a little closer to the congregation, her expression softening.
“There is a devotion I was taught… one that has carried many people of faith through fear, war, and even the shadow of death itself. It’s called Divine Mercy.”
She glanced at the crucifix.
“It comes from a simple truth: that the Mercy of Jesus Christ (everyone bowed their heads at the Savior’s name) is greater than any sin… greater than any deception… and greater than any power that would try to set itself in his place.”
A few of the villagers leaned forward slightly, listening more intently.
“When we are afraid,” Helena continued, “we don’t complicated words. We don’t even need to know what is going on around us and understand its significance. We need only to turn to Him — and to trust.”
