When her hair was long, some guys complained it hid her hoop earrings. When her hair was short, some guys complained "why not grow it longer?"
Each weeded themselves out nicely. As did those who said she should ditch the blazer, or the cigar. They were part of her and what she spent time and money on Her hair was, too, of course, at any length.
She had values, too, of course, and they were strong, but you don't force them in someone's face when you go somewhere nice. People who did that weeded themselves out, too, even if she agreed.
There was always enough good conversation left over.
