"Lady, do you seriously expect me to believe that's all you know about this mess?"

Created for a challenge with a film noir theme. (Except that, after the challenge ended, I took another look and decided I needed to do a bit of inpainting to fine-tune something. So this evolution is not quite what I submitted to the challenge.) The woman is supposed to be Sophia Loren; the man is supposed to be Jimmy Stewart. (Not sure how clearly that comes across in this final edition of the concept.) I'm thinking of him as a private eye who's unhappily suspicious that the beautiful young lady, who looks so sweet and innocent, is lying in order to minimize her involvement in whatever terrible things have been going on lately.

(I'm not sure he's correct in that assessment. It is possible that someone else is playing mind games, and that her statement of what she has seen and heard, and what she does or doesn't know, may be perfectly accurate -- it's just that it doesn't sound plausible!)
