Duke Jeremias Cristole Perinnet was betrayed by the former ruler of the eastern territories of Kaylethe. Upon realizing he was expected to die alongside his family for a cause of a man he loathed. Pirinnet was not a reckless or stupid leader. Being of a sharp mind, he discussed this with his small force of loyal men, and after a vote, he turned his analytical mind to how best to deal with the invading forces mere days away from his border. In the end, he sought a diplomatic resolution to what would be certain doom otherwise. Oaths of blood were soon taken on both sides to their mutual benefit.
