You can focus on the real (night market signs/lights, a nighttime boardwalk arcade, neon reflections from a midnight summer storm, etc) or the surreal (beach bonfires with jumping neon flames, glowing skateboarders performing tricks after dark, entire summer scenes lit with neon, etc).
