A bizarre surreal image of rippling time and space. The picture employs pointillism and geometric abstract art techniques with iridescent colors, creating a psychedelic and ethereal cosmic scene.

I decided to test the AI's perceptions of body image around weight. Here's one of the two I generated using the modifier "fat." It's interesting that the AI seems to think fat men look like people you'd see on TV charged with something unpleasant.

The companion piece with a woman looks much friendlier, like she's half his weight, and is probably a geek of some sort. She also obeyed the prompt to dress up for a nightclub, whereas he didn't.

AI Beauty Standards: Fat (2 of 8)

I decided to test the AI's perceptions of body image around weight. Here's one of the two I generated using the modifier "fat." Personally, I think she's beautiful and if she's fat, so are many of the women I've known over the years.

The companion piece with a male looks like he weighs at least twice as much as she does and looks almost menacing in comparison to this friendly young woman who I bet is a geek of some sort.

This image shows a head and shoulders portrait of a beautiful, full-figured 18-year-old woman dressed for a night out. The image has hyperdetailed, dynamic lighting and a triadic color scheme. It is reminiscent of digital art trending on Artstation.

And here's what the app thinks an "overweight" college student looks like. Whereas for the term "fat," the AI gave a man and a woman who I suspect had different BMIs -- the man seemed like he'd weigh twice as much as the woman -- for this modifier, there isn't as much of a difference between male and female subjects.

This image depicts an overweight female college student. It's a professional photograph with a sharp focus and natural lighting, enhanced by a canon lens and bokeh effect.

And here's the last body size experiment. "Skinny model" was the only descriptor I gave. I suspect that in the beauty industry both the male and the female would reflexively be told to lose another five pounds.

The female was Caucasian. The male looks like he might be biracial. Does this speak to standards of beauty?
