Rare Dog Breeds Tuesday #5: New Guinean Singing Dog

Family to the Australian dingo, this breed of dog is known for its rarity and indomitable spirit. Its name comes from the fact that it doesn't bark like other dogs, but rather yodels.

Case in point, Kaia, the puppy you see in this image. She's a fantastic singer, known for her howls every night of the full moon. Those who have heard her think she's a sing of the sea changing with the moon shape, hence her Maori name meaning 'sea'.

If only Kaia was aware of how adored she is, then she wouldn't have to cry every night to the moon to bring her mother back.
