An Afrikaans idiom, especially for @oistar and @siobhantheonly

Literally: such a mouth should get jam

"Bek" is an alternative for the word "mond", referring to the mouth. Context would dictate whether its use is offensive of humorous.

The idiom would be used when someone says something particularly witty or profound. "Well said! misses the mark.

The closest equivalent in English was a tagline for a South African (?) advertising campaign for a brand of Scotch whisky: "Give that man a Bells". This is a particularly poignant version of one of the TV ads: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=C7ZWz7my3Ho

This vibrant cartoon scene depicts a young man telling a joke, surrounded by people laughing and applauding. He's rewarded with a pot of jam in a playful, fantasy setting with intricate textures and bold colors.
