making Briar’s skin buzz with the sensation. Each spare wall was lined with shelves full of jars, bottles and containers of varying shapes and sizes. To the left was a nook dedicated to ingredient storage, where racks seemed to overflow haphazardly with dried herbs, roots, bits of bone, bottles and bowls of minerals and liquids.

A large wooden table sat nearby, covered in a variety of projects in progress. Scattered ingredients were stuffed around a mortar and pestle, bottles, papers, and a variety of random materials that covered the surface. There was a fireplace nestled into the adjacent wall with a cauldron placed inside. Below it, the logs glowed with the last smoldering embers from the night before, as if something kept sparking it back to life when the light died out.
