Light by Anna Boch

A depiction of 'Light' in the style of Belgian painter and art collector Anna Boch (1848-1936), the only female member of the Les XX group. She is best known for her Impressionist paintings of landscapes, still lifes, and portraits. Boch was born in Saint-Vaast, Belgium, into a wealthy family and studied art in Brussels and Paris. She was influenced by Impressionist painters, such as Claude Monet and Pierre-Auguste Renoir. Boch's paintings are characterized by their use of bright colours, loose brushstrokes and attention to detail. She often depicted everyday scenes from her life, such as her garden, her home and her family. Boch was a successful artist during her lifetime, and her work is still admired today. She was a pioneer for women in the art world, and she helped to promote the Impressionist movement in Belgium.
