Chiyo & Yulip #6: A New Friend

After leaving the funfair in Ki-Riku, Chiyo and Yulip come across a lost tiger cub.

He looks anxious and scared. Chiyo reaches out a hand in an attempt to offer some comfort, but he emits a soft growl; as if warning her not to touch him.

Chiyo quickly pulls her hand back, not wanting to add to his distress.

She looks to Yulip, and sees in Yulip's eyes that she feels protective towards this youngling of her species, and Chiyo understands why that is; because animals should always be cared for, and that was maybe especially true in regards to tigers because they are a rare animal highly sought by certain unsavoury people.

Yulip tenderly licks the top of the cub's head then stands besides him. He relaxes, perhaps sensing that the two mean to help him.

Chiyo speaks to the cub in a soft tone, asking "Do you need accompanying home?" and the cub reacts by contemplatively tilting his head before giving an affirmative purr.

"Well then Yulip and I will see you safely home" promises Chiyo.
