How far can I go? (image story in description)

As she continued to wade, she wondered just how deep this was going to get. She had come down to the pond and had the urge to just wade in. She had expected it to be colder today but the fall evening had proved to be more like a summer night and a t-shirt would have been more suitable instead of her sweater and jean jacket. Her ankle boots were full of water and her jeans were getting wet but the pond didn't seem to be getting any deeper. She wondered if she could go all the way across. Once she stepped in she had decided she was going to go out as far as she could, till she made it to the other side or she couldn't stand. She loved getting her jeans wet and the water was warm. She hadn't thought about swimming today, but now she couldn't get it out of her mind. But how far would she need to wade before she got to that point? She didn't care, even if she made it all the way across she was dunking herself under. There was no way she was coming baxk from the pond dry.
