Wizard in Post-Apocalyptic Dystopia: Hyperrealist Art

Misty morning, clouds in the sky
Without warning, a wizard walks by
Casting his shadow, weaving his spell
Long, grey cloak, tinkling bell -...

Evil power disappears
Demons worry when the wizard is near
He turns tears into joy
Everyone's happy when the wizard walks by

Why are they zombies though? This is very creepy though I appreciate the message is intended to remind people that everyone matters.

If you lost everything you cared about and had to leave everything behind, you would be only like a shell of your previous self. Thanks for the feedback!

True this could be the case but the image could also create the impression that refugees are a horde of mindless zombies coming to feed on the brains and lives of those whose countries they turn to for safety. I've worked with refugees and asylum seekers, none of them are zombies or "a shell of their former self". Most are filled with a hope and desire to rebuild and renew their lives in a new but sometimes hostile world. So that's my perspective on how this image can appear to someone who's already unwelcoming to people who have lost everything and only want to rebuild and find a new place where they can belong and feel safe. No one should be portrayed, en masse, as a horde of zombies, especially not those who have, as you say, lost everything and need and would benefit from our support and compassion. The image clashes mentally with the message.. so as a viewer, its a mixed message of "but they're not individuals, they're just zombies we must keep out and protect out safe world from"
