Fall, Smells like earth, Feels like a cool breeze, Tastes like apple cider and cinnamon, Clouds fluffy as cotton, Raindrops big as the pebbles on the ground, Plink, Plink, Plink, Fall, The colors warm, Yellow, Orange, Red, And gold, The wind soft as feathers, Stirring the leaves on the ground. Pine tree needles, Still green as ever, Clear blue waters on a stormy day, The lake shore empty, A single leaf on the breeze. The swish of the branches, Swish, Swish, Swish, The ancient smell, The old smell, The smell of home and fresh-cut wood, The smell of cold crisp days, But long before the snow. The sounds of birds flitting through the trees, Enjoying the last warm days before winter comes. The songs of people, And the songs of silence. Fall comes in many colors, But for me, It comes in gold.
