In Keeping Watch, you play as Daniel Mercer, a newly hired overnight security guard at Blackthorn Residential Facility, an abandoned children's care center that was supposedly shut down after a mysterious incident twenty years ago. Your job seems simple: monitor the security cameras, inspect the hallways, record anything unusual, and keep every entrance locked until 6:00 AM. However, as the nights progress, the cameras begin showing rooms that no longer exist, children's voices emerge from disconnected intercoms, and strange figures begin appearing throughout the building. The previous guard leaves behind scattered notes warning Daniel never to trust the cameras completely, because some of the creatures can imitate people, manipulate surveillance footage, and even learn from his behavior. As Daniel uncovers the truth behind Blackthorn's closure, he realizes that the facility isn't trying to keep its residents inside anymore—it's trying to keep something much worse from getting out.
