Making Magic

A Figure in the Halloween Night Short Story, Part 1:
 Click-clack, click-clack. 
The sound of heels click-clacking across rock rang out through the pitch-black night. 
Click-clack, click-clack, click-clack.
A wisp of dark magic smoke, the thump of a broom leaning itself against a tree, the tiny “meows” of two kittens, one clambering over jack-o-lanterns lit with crackling flames, the other resting in the arms of a… figure. 
And then all went silent, the only sound heard being the eerie whispers of the wind. 

Part 2: The figure looks out at the barren landscape below her from the cliff ledge she was standing on, her hair billowing mysteriously behind her. 
It is a chilly October night. A chilly Halloween October night, to be exact, with starry skies and the dim, oddly unsettling glow of the large full moon. The air around this elegantly sinister figure is at least 5 times colder. 

Part 3: Most of her face is hidden beneath the brim of her large hat, but her mouth is seen curving into a cold, shady smile, before she then cackles, her laugh slicing across the air like nails against a chalkboard, like a knife cutting clean across a surface, like a warning to all listening and watching. At the exact same time, lightning flashes and thunder booms ominously, foretelling and symbolizing that something dark, something dangerous, something evil was going to happen. At the exact same time, the large, antique grandfather clock in an ancient library struck 3:00 a.m.

Let’s ignore how short the broom turned out 😆, short 4-part story for this creation in the comments somewhere . Please excuse the VERY many deleted messages, those were typos, and I’m kind of a perfectionist 😅
