Scars and Birthmarks

Portraits of beautiful people, human and non-human alike, who have prominent scars or birthmarks, especially on the face.

As inspiration for this challenge, I listened to the TEDtalk "To This Day... to the bullied and the beautiful" by Shane Koyczan. He talks about a girl with a facial birthmark and the bullying she endured because of it.

I really like this line: "...they'll never understand that's she's raising two kids whose definition of beauty begins with the word 'mom'."

So, show that beauty that so many don't see in themselves. That's what I'd like to see.
