My head throbbed as I woke up, the aftermath of a night spent drinking at the tavern with a few sailors. I had to be up for the bakery, but the light and sun told me I was not going to make it. The bed moved beneath me, more like a rock than a bed; I think I was on a boat. The sea air came over me, and I felt my stomach churn. I got up and ran to the edge of the ship, throwing up whatever I ate last night. The sea stretched out before me, but where was I?“Where am I?” I asked, trying to shield myself from the burning sun.

“On my ship, The Sidiuzes,” she said with a smile.

“But I’m not a sailor,” I protested my abduction.

“You are now,” she said with a slight giggle.

“Boatswain, take him below!” she ordered.

A burly man grabbed me and pushed me toward the ladders. What an adventure I was about to undergo! And this woman… an adventure that would be with me for the rest of my life.
