Nigel Wright is considered to be one of the most intelligent people in history. Being a well respected author, biologist, explorer, cryptozoologist, and philosopher.

He is one of the least violent characters, as he preaches that violence should only ever be the very last option considered.

Nigel is the one who taught David most of what he knows, and is one of the few people who has seen all of Augustine Island. His daughter only had her father as a parent growing up as her mother died in childbirth. Wanting to bring her back for her was his main motivation to explore Augustine, as he thought the book of Erebus was his only hope.
