Charlotte's Wonder

Little Charlotte was 7 years old. She was a beautiful girl with an open mind and lived with loving parents in a small, humble home. One day, on a beach not far from home, she was watching the waves come and go. Suddenly, she let out a small gasp. A starfish had been washed up on the beach, and Charlotte had never seen one before in real life. "Poor thing," she mumbled, "who knows how long it's been here." Charlotte gently picked it up and observed its intricate patterns. Her curious mind marvelled at its star shape. For a while, her young mind battled what to do. Should she take it to her parents, sitting on a beach blanket not far from her? Her parents would know what to do. Should she toss it back into the water? It might just get washed up again.
