Aurorabacks

Size: Large (6–8 ft long, ~1,000 lbs) Habitat: Subglacial caverns, geothermal oases, and the frozen coastlines of Australis, especially near snow-fungus colonies. Description: Aurorabacks are enormous, six-legged crustaceans with domed, segmented shells that ripple with bands of glowing color—pale blue, violet, and green, mimicking the aurorae above. Their glow is not just beautiful; it serves both communication and camouflage in the ice-lit dark. Their massive claws are blunt, adapted for scraping snow-fungus from beneath glacial shelves.
